Our 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2014

Watch Dogs

Platform: PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Wii U
Release Date: Q2 2014

From the first trailer, the premise of Watch Dogs has intrigued and impressed us. The game gives us a glimpse of the scary and dangerous possibilities of our modern, interconnected, and technology-dependent world. It’s an interesting take on the open-world adventure game and we’re excited to hack our way through the game’s missions.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Platform: PC, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One
Release Date: Q3 2014

The first Dragon Age (Origins) was a great success, winning multiple awards and receiving positive reviews from both professional reviewers and the general public. The second game, Dragon Age II, didn’t receive the same amount of praise. With the third installment in the series, Bioware has promised to fix the issues from Dragon Age II and make the game a completely different experience than the previous. Tactical view is also making a comeback and will also be coming to consoles.

The Order: 1886

Platform: Playstation 4
Release Date: Q3 2014

Take the mythical lore of King Arthur and his knights and mix it with 19th-century steampunk/neo-victorian & monsters and you get The Order: 1886. In The Order, you play as one of the descendants of the original Knights of the Round and fight in a war against the “Halfbreeds”. There’s not a lot more information out on the game but from the info we do have, this game is looking to be an interesting experience.

Platform: Xbox One
Release Date: TBA 2014

We don’t know a lot about the new Halo game coming out on the Xbox One. Microsoft has only shown us a teaser trailer and a piece of concept art for now.  All we know is that we love the Halo franchise and we’re looking forward to playing Halo on next-gen.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Platform: PC, Xbox One, Playstation 4
Release Date: TBA 2014

For the concluding installment of Geralt of Rivia’s story, CD Projekt RED has taken everything to the next level with a completely new engine called REDengine 3, a vast open-world “30 times larger” than the previous games, and a “complex and multi-threaded” story. The Witcher 3 has already won multiple awards even before its launch and it’s a game fans and non-fans of the series shouldn’t miss.

Special Mention – Diablo III: Reaper of Souls

Platform: PC
Release Date: March 25, 2014

Before Diablo III launched, it was a game that every PC gamer that has ever played the previous installments of the franchise should buy. But with Reaper of Souls, the game’s first expansion, that opinion has changed for a lot of people.

We’re not only excited for what the expansion will bring to the title’s gameplay and story but we’re also interested in seeing if the franchise survived the initial troubles of Diablo III.

This year is going to be a great year for games and gamers. And we’re extremely excited to get our hands on all of these games including the ones that aren’t on this list.

What’s your most anticipated game of the year?
