Kingston has announced the release of its new PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2 SSD, the FURY Renegade G5. The announcement comes just a week before the start of Computex 2025, the region’s largest annual tech convention.
According to the announcement, the Kingston FURY Renegade G5 utilizes a PCIe Gen5 x 4 controller coupled with 3D TLC NAND, enabling it to reach speeds of up to 14,800/14,000MB/s read/write and over 2M IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second).
It also comes with a Silicon Motion SM2508 controller and a low-power DDR4 DRAM cache, which are meant to reduce heat and energy consumption. DirectStorage is also said to be supported.
The FURY Renegade G5 will be available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities and comes with a 5-year limited warranty and free technical suport.
“We’re eager to announce this addition to the Kingston FURY family of high-performance solutions,” said Kingston. “Between the power of Kingston FURY Renegade G5 SSD and Kingston FURY memory, high-power users and hardware enthusiasts can create their ultimate system.”
The Kingston FURY Renegade G5 should become available in the coming weeks or months depending on the region. Pricing has yet to be announced for the Philippines as of this writing.
