Transcend has announced the release of two new PCIe NVMe M.2 SSDs for the consumer market and embedded applications – the MTE110S and MTE550T, respectively. They both feature the M.2 2280 form factor, 3D TLC NAND flash memory and a PCI Express Gen 3 x4 interface.
The new SSDs are fully compliant with PCIe 3.1 and NVMe 1.3 specifications, which gives them rated read/write transfer speeds of up to 1,800 MB/s and 1,500 MB/s, respectively. They also come with built-in SLC caching, LDPC ECC algorithm, and dynamic thermal throttling mechanism.
Additionally, the MTE550T also supports enhanced S.M.A.R.T. functionality, advanced global wear-leveling and block management, and advanced garbage collection.
Both drives are compatibly with Transcend’s SSD Scope and SSD Scope Pro software that are designed to help users monitor SSD health as well as help them run more efficiently. Some of the features of the Scope and Scope Pro software include View Drive Information, View S.M.A.R.T. Status, Diagnostic Scan, Secure Erase, Health Indicator, System Clone and Firmware Update.
The MTE110S PCIe NVMe M.2 2280 SSD comes in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities, all of which are covered by Transcend’s five-year limited warranty. The MTE550T, on the other hand, comes in 128GB and 256GB capacities with a three-year limited warranty.
