AMD has officially announced the release date and pricing of two additional Ryzen Threadripper processors. The Threadripper 2970WX and 2920X will be released globally on October 29, 2018 and will be priced at USD 1,299 and USD 649, respectively.
The Threadripper 2970WX sits between the already released Threadripper 2990WX and Threadripper 2950X. It features 24 cores, 48 threads, a base clock of 3.0GHz, a boost clock of 4.2GHz, a 64MB L3 cache, and a TDP of 250 watts. Just like the other 2nd generation Ryzen Threadripper processors, it also features 64 PCIe Gen 3.0 lanes.
On the other hand, the Threadripper 2920X is the new “entry-level” model of the 2nd generation Ryzen Threadripper line and sits below the Threadripper 2950X. It features 12 cores, 24 threads, a base clock of 3.5GHz, a boost clock of 4.3GHz, a 32MB L3 cache, and a TDP of 180 watts.
The Threadripper 2970WX and 2920X will be available starting October 29, 2018, with SRPs of USD 1,299 and USD 649, respectively.
