In its continuing efforts to support the country’s fight against COVID-19, PLDT Enterprise has provided free fiber-grade connectivity to several Philippine Army-operated COVID-19 quarantine sites in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
The affected COVID-19 quarantine areas include the Philippine Army Wellness Center, the Gate 5 Barracks, the SOQ TRADOC Building, and the Libingan ng mga Bayani. The fiber-grade connectivity will not only allow army personnel to stay connected and informed of the latest developments surrounding the virus but also keep quarantined COVID-19 patients connected with their families and loved ones.
“We at PLDT Enterprise extend support to the Philippine Army in order to strengthen their capabilities in responding to the battle against COVID-19. This service enables health professionals deployed at COVID-19 treatment facilities to be informed of the latest information and stay connected to their families,” said Jovy I. Hernandez, ePLDT President & CEO and SVP & Head for PLDT and Smart Enterprise Business Groups.
“We would like to express our sincerest gratitude for the services the PLDT Group has extended to the Philippine Army in line with our efforts to address the threats of COVID-19,” said Philippine Army Colonel (SC) MNSA PA Mark Edwin B. Moro. “We salute you for not hesitating to provide the services to the Philippine Army. We hope and pray that we can overcome this crisis at the soonest time possible.”
The Philippine Army COVID-19 quarantine sites in Fort Bonifacio are just the latest areas PLDT Enterprise has provided free connectivity to. The company has also provided fiber-grade connectivity to quarantine centers at the World Trade Center and Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City as well as the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.
