Path of Exile 2 launched its first major content update, Dawn of the Hunt, last April 5, 2025, which adds the new Huntress class, new Ascendancy classes, new skills and items, improvements to the endgame, and a lot more. The game is also giving away three free cosmetics via Twitch Drops to celebrate the launch of the update.
First and foremost, the new Huntress is a spear-wielding Azmeri warrior equipped with a spear and buckler. The Huntress mixes both melee and ranged combat combined with agile movement to get in and out of combat. Examples of the Huntress’s combat abilities include striking in melee with their spear then jumping back to start throwing spears or parrying with their buckler then following up with a counterattack. The Huntress is also able to summon beast companions as well as cast elemental spells to aid them in combat.
The Dawn of the Hunt update also adds new Ascendancy classes for the Warrior, Mercenary, and Witch, along with a plethora of new skill gems for all classes such as the Raise Spectre and Summon Rhoa gems. Players can also explore new builds with the over 100 new supports gems and unique items that have been added in the new update. Players will then be able to test their builds against the new Rogue Exiles encounter, which pits players against enemies that look and play like real players, complete with Dodge Roll, skills, and unique equipment. Defeating one of these Rogue Exiles will reward the player with all the items the Exile is carrying.
Grinding Gear Games has also introduced a new endgame mechanic called Cleanse the Corruption where players will need to defeat specific area bosses to cleanse areas of Corruption. Once an area is cleansed, new monsters and a new boss will appear in that area, with their own Modifiers and rewards.
Lastly, some of the other new content in the new update include new map encounters, seven new endgame maps, new unique strongboxes, endgame system improvements, Corrupted Essenses, and more.
As previously mentioned, players will be able to earn three free cosmetics via Twitch Drops as part of the update’s launch. Players will need to accumulate three hours of watch time at any of the Twitch channels in the Path of Exile 2 category during the promotion period to receive the free cosmetics. - Azmeri Noble Deer Pet from 4 April, 12PM PDT, to 12 April, 5AM PDT.

Path of Exile 2 Dawn of the Hunt is now available in early access on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
