Genshin Impact publisher and developer HoYoverse has announced that the game’s Version 4.3 update, dubbed “Roses and Muskets,” will be released on December 20 and will bring with it the Fontinalia Festival as well as two new playable characters – Navia, the president of Spina di Rosula, and Chevreuse, the captain of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol.
This year’s Fontinalia Festival will feature a unique film festival that honors the tradition of commemorating the legendary Lochnights, who welcomed the previous Hydro Archon Egeria to Fontaine. Furina will lead a team composed of the Kamisato siblings, the Traveler, and the renowned fashion designer of the Chioriya Boutique, Chiori to create a film for the festival.
In addition, the Fontinalia Festival will also offer a series of mini-games, such as designing a short film with different camera angles and narrations in “Into the Frame,” as well as shooting training in a marksmanship-themed gameplay mode. Players can win Theater Tickets by participating in the events, which they can use to obtain rewards, including the 4-star claymore “Ultimate Overlord’s Mega Magic Sword.”
Version 4.3 also features the addition of Navia and Chevreuse to the game’s roster of playable characters. Navia is a 5-star Geo claymore user who is capable of firing “Rosula Shardshots” from her gunbrella. The number of shots her weapon is capable of firing is determined by “Crystal Shrapnel,” which can be accumulated by obtaining Elemental Shards from Crystallize reactions or her Elemental Burst.
As for Chevreuse, she is a 4-star Pyro polearm wielder who can fire bullets with her musket that deal AoE Pyro damage as well as heal the active character with her Elemental Skill. She can also toss an explosive grenade that splits into multiple secondary explosive shells on impact.
The first half of Version 4.3 will feature Navia’s banner alongside the rerun banner of Kamisato Ayaka while the second half will feature Chevreuse’s banner alongside the reruns of Raiden Shogun and Yoimiya.
Version 4.3 will also introduce several updates to permanent gameplay modes and limited-time events, including new features and rewards. Genius Invokation TCG will get more cards, NPC challengers, and a limited-time Heated Battle Mode. The Serenitea Pot will also get an update that adds a Fontaine-style realm layout. Itto’s bettle Battle event and Libe’s daily requests will be making a return in Version 4.3
Lastly, Version 4.3 will be adding the “one-click function,” which lets players collect rewards from expeditions and repeat them, as well as collect processed ingredients and forged items. Players will also be able to lock and unlock Artifacts in batches, automatically lock existing or new Artifacts based on the player’s filter specifications.
Genshin Impact Version 4.3 is scheduled for release on December 20. The game is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Android, and iOS.
