Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment has released an extended gameplay trailer for the latest entry in the series. The company also recently released a story trailer, giving fans a glimpse of the new title’s setting and plot.
The new gameplay preview, which is narrated by the game’s developers, showcases how the series’ signature mech customization will work in this new installment. Players will be able to change their mechs weapons, frame parts, and internal parts for power management. The customization lets players build their mech according to their individual playstyle.
It also shows off some of the mechanics that players will have to make full use of to successfully conquer the game’s myriad of enemies, including staggering them with the right weapons, making use of both melee and ranged attacks, and more.
In Armored Core 6, players will be able to equip up to four weapons, one for each arm and shoulder, and have access to “Assault Boost,” which can be used both for combat and map traversal. The video also shows off the game’s multi-layered levels, allowing players maximize their mech’s mobility.
The maps in Armored Core 6 will also include some features such as vertical catapults that launch the mech high up in the air, allowing players to approach locations from above. Some of the mission encounters that players will have to tackle range from working with allied mechs, protecting targets, and destroying enemy forces.
Bandai Namco Entertainment also released the story trailer for Armored Core 6, revealing more about the game’s world.
Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon is scheduled to launch on August 25, 2023, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
