One of the few hassles of shopping at convenience stores in the Philippines is their limitation of only taking payments in cash, which can sometimes be inconvenient in the middle of the night when it isn’t the safest to grab cash from the ATM. But that situation has begun to change as PayMaya has announced that Ministop will now begin accepting PayMaya QR payments.
According to the announcement, PayMaya QR is now available in over 500 Ministop branches nationwide, so PayMaya users will now only need to use their PayMaya-equipped phone to process their payments. Additionally, from February 15 to April 18, 2020, users can get P50 cashback once per week whenever they use PayMaya QR to pay for their purchases (minimum of P200) at select Ministop branches. Select Ministop branches are also equipped with Pay & Go kiosks where PayMaya users can add money to their accounts.
“Whether it’s grabbing Ministop’s famous Uncle John’s Fried Chicken for a quick lunch or buying supplies for home, your payment experience just got more convenient and rewarding because of PayMaya QR. It’s the perfect marriage of convenience and rewards, which makes buying your items at Ministop with PayMaya even more exciting,” said Raymund Villanueva, Head of QR Ecosystems at PayMaya.
