Maxis and EA today announced that The Sims 4 is currently in development at The Sims Studio which is again being handled by Maxis (The Sims 3 was not directly developed by Maxis).
It will be released for PC and Mac in 2014. The last The Sims game, The Sims 3, was released back in 2009.
EA and Maxis rewarded several of the world’s top The Sims fans to a special VIP briefing wherein they were among the first to hear the news on The Sims 4.
EA has also opened a new The Sims 4 page on the franchise’s website where interested parties may sign up to receive e-mail updates on the new The Sims game.
