NVIDIA, in partnership with Colorful, have announced that the GeForce Cup Pacific esports tournament will begin this month and will feature Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The tournament, which will be held across Australia, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, will have more than USD 20,000 in prizes at stake when the regional finals occur sometime in December 2019 or January 2020.
The GeForce Cup Pacific is the next evolution of the GeForce Xtreme Tournament (GEXT) and as such will be held at several GeForce-certified iCafes across the participating countries. Apart from NVIDIA and Colorful, the event is also sponsored by AOC, Kingston, NZXT, and Thermaltake.
“The stunning growth of the number of GeForce-certified iCafes is a reflection of the vibrancy of the gaming community and the ultimate PC experience that gamers enjoy with NVIDIA GeForce GPUs in Asia,” said Raymond Teh, vice president of sales and marketing for APAC at NVIDIA. “GeForce Cup Pacific will take regional gamers to another level. The tournament will be streamed live to allow gamers and esports enthusiasts around the world to follow the development online.”
“The cooperation with Colorful and NVIDIA in 2018 was a great success and Colorful is thrilled to join GeForce Cup again in 2019. We dedicate to build a great platform for esports qualifiers, to help them become professional esports players and win pride and honor. On behalf of Colorful Group, I give my best wishes to GeForce Cup to achieve success again in 2019!” said Mr. Wan Shan, CEO of Colorful Technology.
The qualifiers for the tournament will be held across October while the playoffs and the wildcard events will begin in November. As previously mentioned, the finals will be held sometime in December 2019 or January 2020.
