The Fall Season of the Wild Rift SEA Icon Series Philippines has officially begun and features a new format that not only gives more players a chance to compete but also a chance to take home winnings with every victory achieved in the tournament.
“The big change for the Fall Season is that all teams, regardless of team composition and location, can now play in the 2021 League of Legends: Wild Rift SEA Icon Series Philippines. As we continue to uphold our responsibility as the license holder of Riot Games esports in the country, we will continue to listen to our players’ and fans’ needs and continuously improve the experience,” says Mark Navarro, Country Manager of Mineski Philippines.
The Fall Season began with the Open Qualifiers, which started on July 1 and will run until 11, 2021. There will be four rounds of Open Qualifiers, with each round featuring a maximum of 256 teams. The top three teams from each qualifier will then proceed to the double round-robin Group Stage.
The Group Stage will be held from July 23 to August 15, 2021. The 12 teams from the Open Qualifiers will be joined by the top four teams from the previous season, namely Amihan Esports, Team Secret, Liyab Esports, and Omega Esports, and will be shuffled into four groups with each group featuring one of the four aforementioned seeded teams. Finally, the top two teams from each group will progress to the playoffs where they will compete for the spot of Fall Season champion.

Unlike previous seasons, every team that will win and progress in the Fall Season will be awarded Globe Cup Points, with 5 million points up for grabs throughout the season. The points are convertible to cash and are worth PHP 1 each, giving the Fall Season a prize pool equivalent to PHP 5 million.
