Tamiya, in collaboration with The Brickyard and Lil’s Hobby Center, has released a limited edition “Dyipne” mini 4WD kit that’s inspired by the iconic Philippine jeepney to commemorate the Asia Challenge Manila event happening from June 20-23 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City, Philippines.
Like many other Tamiya kits, the “Dyipne” is manufactured in Cebu, Philippines, and features many of the same design aesthetics of actual Philippine jeepneys, including bright colors, prominent text and graphics, and even horse figurines on the hood. The “Dyipne” kit specifically also features the Brickyard, Lil’s Hobby Shop, and Asia Challenge logos, as well as travel route label that goes from Quaipo to Makati to Parañaque.
The “Dyipne” limited edition mini 4WD kit is now available and is exclusively available at The Brickyard and Lil’s Hobby Center in Glorietta, Makati with a price tag of around PHP 750.
It will be exclusively sold in the Philippines for a few months before being released globally. The Brickyard is considered as one of the homes of Tamiya in the Philippines where fans new and old can purchase, build, and race their mini 4WD kits.
The Asia Challenge Manila will feature some 250-300 competitors from 10 countries, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, and more. The winner of the event will be sent to Japan in November to compete in the World Championship.
