Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that the official release date of Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris has been pushed back to July 10, 2020, from its original launch date of May 22, 2020, due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
Yosuke Futami, the executive producer of the Sword Art Online video game series, said in a statement:
“We have been working hard on SWORD ART ONLINE Alicization Lycoris for our fans who are looking forward to the next SWORD ART ONLINE title. Due to the ongoing world events, we have made the difficult decision to move the release date of SWORD ART ONLINE Alicization Lycoris to 10th July 2020. We believe that this is the best way to ensure that SWORD ART ONLINE fans are delivered the best SWORD ART ONLINE Alicization Lycoris experience.”
Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris will now be released on July 10, 2020, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. You can check out the announcement trailer for the new release date below:
