Philippine Collegiate Championship and Next Gen Program Announced by CCE

The new season of the Philippine Collegiate Championship (PCC) has been announced by the Collegiate Center for Esports (CCE). The organization also unveiled its Next Gen Program, a new initiative that seeks to develop the next wave of gaming and esports professionals in the Philippines.

The PCC will feature two major tournaments, the Regional Cup and the National League, as well as popular mobile games such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Call of Duty Mobile. The Regional Cup will be an online tournament inviting students to represent their institutions in NCR, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The top four teams from each region will the move on to the National League where the country’s best esports collegiate team will be crowned. The Regional Cup is scheduled to commence this month while the National League will begin sometime in August.

“Our mission is to expand the horizons of our students within the esports scene. As the next generation of esports athletes and professionals, we are committed to providing them with the essential tools and knowledge to excel, so they may forge ahead in the ever-growing industry,” said Stanley Lao, Chief Executive Officer of the Collegiate Center for Esports

The PCC also announced that it will also be hosting the Campus Roadshow, which will give students the opportunity to learn from industry leaders through its Esports Masterclass. The roadshow will also feature community tournaments, meet-and-greets, and other activities. The Campus Roadshow is set to begin its tour around the country later this year.

Lastly, the CCE announced its Next Gen Program, which will send participants on a 7-day educational tour in Tokyo, Japan, where they will experience a crash course on the esports ecosystem, visits to premier esports arenas and gaming studios, and attending one of the biggest gaming conventions, Tokyo Game Show. CCE will host a campaign where interested participants can sign up and go through the selection process, which will involve mentor-led programs and challenges at CCE’s Esports Academy.

CCE Chief Executive Officer Stanley Lao stated, “The Next Gen Program is more than just a tour; it’s an experience that equips our aspiring young professionals with the knowledge and skills required to kickstart their journey in the gaming industry. We are not just training the next generation; we are inspiring them to redefine the industry.”

The Next Gen Program will begin its selection process later this year alongside the Campus Roadshow and Esports Academy.
