Monster Hunter Wilds Announced, Set for Release in 2025

Monster Hunter Wilds has been announced by Capcom with a new trailer at The Game Awards 2023. The new entry in the long-running series, which is now in active development, is scheduled for release sometime in 2025 for the PlayStation 5, xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.

The sneak peak trailer shown off at The Game Awards 2023 shows the game’s setting, a dessert world, as well as some of the endemic life that players will encounter. The trailer shows a hunter riding through the dessert on a new bird-like mount and through a massive herd of smaller beasts. The trailer also shows environmental dangers that players can encounter, such as sandstorms and thunderstorms, as well as some of the ways the new mount can traverse terrain, such as running, jumping, and gliding.

The trailer and announcement are expectedly sparse on details on the game, given its still far off release date, but Capcom has said that it plans to reveal more sometime in the summer of 2024.

Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for release in 2025 on for the PlayStation 5, xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
