Maya Awarded Top Prepaid Card Issuer in the Philippines

Maya has been awarded the top prepaid card issuer in the Philippines for 2023 by card payment network Visa. The financial services and digital payments company, formerly known as PayMaya, has held the position for three consecutive years now, from 2021 to 2023.

“We’ve made it incredibly simple for millions of Filipinos to get a card. This ease of access particularly resonates with the youth, who not only use it for everyday purchases but also as a reliable companion for global travel. It’s exciting to see the Maya Card become the fastest-growing card in the Philippines,” said Shailesh Baidwan, Group President of Maya and Co-Founder of Maya Bank.

Obtaining a Maya card is relatively easy. Maya users with upgraded accounts can get a digital or physical Maya card by just heading over to the “Cards section of the Maya app to place their order, without the need for additional documents.

Maya cards can be used not only at local stores or retailers but also in other countries, with support for over 80 million merchants and ATMs globally. Maya cards are instantly activated for international use and are kept informed of their transactions in real time through the Maya app wherever they are in the world.

More information on Maya and their digital and physical cards can be found on the official website or the app, which is available on both the Google Play and Apple App stores.
