Honkai: Star Rail developer and publisher HoYoverse has announced that the game’s upcoming Version 1.6 update will be released on December 27, 2023. The new update, dubbed “Crown of the Mundane and Divine,” will introduce new story missions, three new playable characters, a new event, updated content, and more.
The new story chapter introduced in Version 1.6 brings players back to the Herta Space Station where they will be able to access the new Seclusion Zone where they will meet one of the game’s new characters, Madam Ruan Mei.
Here’s a summary of the Version 1.6 story:
“After helping out with the Paranormal crisis on Fyxestroll Garden, the Trailblazer will return to Herta Space Station and encounter Madam Ruan Mei for the first time. In the process of clone cultivation, Madam Ruan Mei did encounter a certain anomaly, which showed up in the form of a Swarm King prototype and a fierce Swarm Disaster entity. Due to an incident during the experiment, this “Borehole Planet’s Old Crater” came into being in the Seclusion Zone of Herta Space Station, where Trailblazer will be stuck in a tough fight.”
Version 1.6 also brings with it a new content update for the Simulated Universe called Gold and Gears. The update adds the Path of Erudition to the game mode while also introducing a new dice system wherein players can unlock and equip several Dice Face effects. Players will be able to unlock more Dice Face effects by collecting Trailblaze Secrets and completing certain challenges.
The Forgotten Hall is also getting the new Pure Fiction set of stages for players to complete.
During the release of Version 1.6, players will be able to participate in the Critter Pick scavenging event wherein players will be able to raise an assortment of little creatures as pets. Players can complete event tasks and challenges to unlock more ways to raise their family of pets and unlock rewards.
Lastly, Version 1.6 brings with it the addition of Madam Ruan Mei, Dr. Ratio, and Xueyi to the game’s playable roster. Madam Ruan Mei is a 5-star Ice character following the Path of Harmony. Her abilities focus on boosting the damage and weakness break efficiency of her allies while also taking advantage of the enemies’ Weakness. The other 5-star character that will be introduced in Version 1.6 is Dr. Ratio, who is a 5-star Imaginary character under the Path of the Hunt that takes advantage of enemies who have debuffs placed on them. The third character being added in Version 1.6 is Xueyi, a 4-star Quantum-Type character following the Path of Destruction.
While Madam Ruan Mei and Xueyi will be obtainable through the update’s limited-time Warp banner, all players who have unlocked the mail feature will get Dr. Ratio for free. Additionally, Kafka and Blade will have rerun banners during Version 1.6 for those who have yet to obtain them.
