Genshin Impact Version 3.6 Launches on April 12, Adds New Map Expansion

Genshin Impact developer and publisher HoYoverse has announced that Version 3.6 of the game will be launched on April 12, 2023. Dubbed “A Parade of Providence,” the new update will introduce the very first Akademiya Extravaganza, bring players to a new area in Sumeru, and add Baizhu and Kaveh as the game’s latest playable characters.

The new Akademiya Extravaganza event, held in Sumeru, will feature two main events – the Wisdom Gala and the Interdarshan Championship. There will be also be six mini-games available at different booths, each one designed by one of the six Darshans. Additionally, the Layla’s Hangout Quest will also be introduced during Version 3.6.

Version 3.6 is also introducing a new area for players to explore. Damaged by Gray Crystals and corruptive Purple Mists, the new zone is said to be one of the main battlefields of the Khaenri’ah cataclysm. Travelers will be accompanied by unique creatures called “Pari” during their visit to the area. Pari are able to fly and transport Travelers to normally unreachable areas.

Several new encounters will be made available during the new patch, including Apep, the “Dragon of Verdure,” as the new Trounce Domain’ weekly boss, another new boss enemy “Iniquitous Baptist”, the Anemo Hilichurl Rogue, and the Hydro Hilichurl Rogue. More information about the legendary dragon Apep and the history of Sumeru can be found in Nahida’s Story Quest “Sapientia Oromasdis Chapter: Act II”.

Lastly, Version 3.6 will be adding Baizhu and Kaveh as playable characters. Baizhu is a five-stay Dendro catalyst wielder while Kaven is a four-star Dendro claymore user. Nahida and Nilou will also be the patch’s rerun characters, available during the first half of the patch, while Ganyu will join Baizhu and Kaven in the second half.

Genshin Impact Version 3.6 will be launched on April 12, 2023.
