Square Enix has officially released the sequel to Final Fantasy IV, The After Years, on iOS and Android.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years was originally released way back in 2008 for mobile devices in Japan and later ported and released as WiiWare in North America, Europe, and Japan. The game was also released for the Playstation Portable as part of the Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection compilation.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years is set 17 years after the events of the original game with 10 playable tales/episodes beginning with “Ceodore’s Tale”. Ceodore Harvey is the son of Cecil and Rosa from the original game who also make a return alongside Kain and other characters. Square Enix has reworked the entire game for mobile devices with new graphics and 3D polygon characters and have also added new character abilities like “Age of Moon” and “Band”.
As a bonus for those who’ve previously bought the Final Fantasy IV on iOS or Android, an in-game bonus item will be unlocked for Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.
