Recap: Sony E3 Press Conference

Sony pulled out all the stops during their conference with a gigantic amount of both software and hardware announcements. We were blown away by the amount of announcements Sony made. Here’s a quick recap of all of their announcements:

  • A “Glacier White” Playstation 4 is announced for $449 and will come bundled with Destiny and a 30-day PS Plus membership when it comes out on September 9, 2014.
  • The Destiny Beta for the Playstation 3 and the Playstation 4 will begin on July 14, 2014.
  • Playstation 4 users will be able to access the Destiny First-look Alpha starting July 12 through July 15. Users can sign-up for the alpha test at http://playstation.greatnessawaits.com/destiny.html.
  • New gameplay trailer for The Order: 1886 revealed.
  • A new game called Entwined announced. Available now on the Playstation 4 for $9.99.
  • Infamous: First Light, the first stand-alone DLC of Infamous: Second Son, is revealed and will be available in August 2014.
  • Little Big Planet 3 is announced with a gameplay preview and a new trailer. Coming out sometime in November.
  • Bloodborne, developed by From Software, is announced. For release in 2015.
  • Gameplay trailer for Far Cry 4 is revealed.
  • Far Cry 4 players invite their friends to their multiplayer games even if they don’t own the game. Only on Playstation.
  • Dead Island 2 is announced. Playstation users will get a 30-day exclusive beta and an exclusive character class level.
  • The monsters from The Last of Us are coming to Diablo 3: Ultimate Edition for the Playstation 4.
  • A new trailer for Battlefield: Hardline revealed.
  • Disney Infinity 2.0 Collector’s Edition exclusive to the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 will come with The Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, Thor, Iron Man, and Black Widow.
  • Destiny players on Playstation consoles will get exclusive weapons, armor sets, gear, ships, as well as a exclusive multiplayer map called Exodus and an exclusive multiplayer co-op encounter, called Strikes, on Mars.
  • Magicka 2 is announced and will be a Playstation console exclusive.
  • A remastered version of the video game classic Grim Fandango is announced exclusively for the PS3 and PS4.
  • Indie games The Talos Principle, Hotline Miami, Not a Hero, Titan Souls, and BroForce are all announced as Playstation console exclusives.
  • Let it Die announced and will be coming exclusively to the Playstation 4 in 2015.
  • ABZU, from Giant Squid, revealed and will be exclusive to the Playstation 4 when it comes out in 2016.
  • No Man’s Sky announced as a Playstation 4 console exclusive.
  • YouTube is coming to the Playstation 4 later this year and will allow gamers to upload their game sessions to their channels along with a slew of other features.
  • New Play Room content announced.
  • Kingdom Under Fire 2, Planetside 2, Guns Up, and 23 other Free to Play titles are coming to Playstation consoles.
  • The Playstation Now open beta for the PS4 in the US and Canada will begin on July 31, 2014.
  • Playstation Now is coming to select Sony televisions.
  • The Playstation TV (formerly the PS Vita TV) is coming to the US, Canada, and Europe this fall at an SRP of $99. A Playstation TV bundle will also be available at $139 which includes a the Playstation TV, a DualShock 3 controller, an HDMI cable, an 8GB microSD card, and a digital version of the LEGO Movie video game.
  • New gameplay footage of the recently announced Mortal Combat X was shown.
  • Powers, an exclusive TV show for Playstation, is announced and will be released in December. PSN users in the US will be able to watch the first episode of the show for free and PS Plus users will be able to watch the whole show for free.
  • Ratchet & Clank: The Movie is announced with a new trailer. Planned for release in 2015.
  • A new trailer for remastered version of the The Last of Us for the PS4 is shown.
  • A new trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is revealed.
  • Grand Theft Auto V for the Playstation 4 is announced.
  • A new gameplay trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight is revealed which reveals the Penguin and Scarecrow. Playstation 4 players will get exclusive Scarecrow missions.
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is announced with a new cinematic trailer and is scheduled to come out in 2015.
