ASUS ROG has unveiled the new limited-edition ROG Crosshair 2006 motherboard, named as such because it’s a throwback to the brand’s very first motherboard from 20 years ago.
The design and aesthetics of the ROG Crosshair 2006 is based on its 20-year-old progenitor while also equipped with the latest motherboard tech and features, including a 2-inch OLED screen on the primary M.2 slot, which can display useful system information such as CPU clock speed, device temperatures, or fan speeds. Users can also personalize the OLED display with their own images and animations.

The internals of the ROG Crosshair 2006 is based on the current ROG Crosshair X870E Dark Hero, including its 20(110A)+2(110A)+2 power stage configuration, ProCool II power connectors, MicroFine alloy chokes, 10K black metallic capacitors, and more. Instead of a large shroud covering the VRMs, it features large copper finned heatsinks that are integrated with the motherboard’s I/O cover.
Other features of the new motherboard include features to help it drive high-end DDR5 kits, including a server-grade ultra low-etch process, PCB back drilling, NitroPath DRAM Technology, and more. There are also a pair of PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and five total M.2 slots (two of which support PCIe 5.0 drives), the latter of which feature the company’s new M.2 Q-Latch, M.2 Q-Release, and M.2 Q-Slide.

Connectivity options include WiFi 7, 10G and 5G Ethernet ports, and a range of USB ports, including a pair of onboard USB4 ports for connecting displays, storage drives, and more, as well as three internal USB 2.0 headers for high-end AIO CPU liquid coolers and more. The front-panel header also supports USB Type-C with Quick Charge 4+ up to 60 watts.
The ROG Crosshair 2006 also comes with the ASUS AIO Q-Connector, which makes installing AIOs with the same connector clean and easy, as no wires will be required to run between the motherboard and pump.
The ASUS ROG Crosshair 2006 will be available in the Philippines in limited quantities. Pricing and details on availability have yet to be announced.
