TEVI, the 2D Metroidvania action game from Taiwanese indie developer CreSpirit, is coming to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 on July 17, 2025, according to an announcement by publisher Game Source Entertainment (GSE). The game will be available in both digital and physical editions for both platforms. TEVI was originally released on PC via Steam back in late 2023.
Those who pre-order the physical edition of TEVI will receive a mousepad featuring artwork of the game’s characters, including Tevi, Vena, Sable, and Celia. The artwork was designed by development team member Ein Lee.
In TEVI, players take on the role of the titular protagonist and will journey through the continent of Az as they try to figure out the mystery of the “Gear.” The continent of Az features five major cities and is inhabited by three main races – magic-wielding human, animal-eared beastkin, and biomechanical hybrids called magitch. TEVI will have to face off against a number of bosses that feature unique mechanics.
Here’s a short description of the game from the press release:
“Welcome to Az, where our advantage begins. This sprawling continent is full of myth and magic, and is home to three main races: magic-wielding human, animal-eared beastkin, and biomechanical hybrids called magitch——
You will become the heroine of the story, a self-proclaimed genius engineer. Embark on a journey across the vast continent of Az, combo your way through five major cities while uncovering the key to the mystery – the “Gear,” and complete boss battles of challenging difficulties!”
TEVI will adventure through Az with her trusty dagger and an oversized wrench alongside her companions Celia and Sable, who manifest as floating orbitars that are able to cast ranged offensive and supportive magic. There will also be over 300 items and equipment pieces available in the game that grant new skills or skill enhancements.
TEVI is scheduled to release on the Nintendo Switch and PS5 on July 17, 2025. The physical edition is now available for pre-order until June 2, 2025.
