Resident Evil 7 Gets New Demo, New Trailer, and Deluxe Edition Updates

Capcom made a few announcements during the Tokyo Game Show this week for the upcoming 7th major installment of the Resident Evil franchise including a new update for the game’s Beginning Hour demo, a new trailer, and updates on the content and price of the game’s Deluxe Edition.

On September 15, Capcom will be releasing a “Twilight Version” update for Resident Evil 7’s Beginning Hour demo. The new update will “allow players to explore more of the mysterious, derelict mansion” that the game is set in and maybe answer some of the questions and mysteries that have come up from the demo. The updated demo will be available to all Playstation 4 owners regardless of whether they have Playstation Plus or not.

Capcom also released a new trailer for Resident Evil 7, which starts off with an audio recording warning the listener to stay away from Baker family mansion while the video gives us glimpses of the exterior and interior of the mansion. The trailer also gives us a glimpse of one of the game’s main antagonists, the Baker Family, a bit of their personalities and their shocking dining habits. Lastly, the trailer shows us a bit of the game’s first-person combat.

Finally, Capcom announced that the Deluxe Edition of the game, which previously included the base game and a seasons pass (which initially came with two additional story episodes), will now also include a third story episode. This also means though that the price of the Deluxe Edition will also go up from its previous price of $79.99 to $89.99 starting September 15. But the company does mention that those who have previously purchased the Deluxe Edition will get the additional third story episode for free at no extra cost.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will be released on January 24, 2017 on the Playstation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC.
