It looks like Plantronics is looking to get into the local gaming peripherals industry as it has just launched a trio of gaming headsets into the Philippine market – the RIG 500, RIG 500HD, and RIG 500E, each with its own set of features and capabilities.
The three new headsets feature a self-adjusting headband design with a plastic suspension frame. They also feature 40mm dynamic drivers that have an impedance of 320hms, a sensitivity of 20Hz-20kHz, and a maximum input power of 40mW. They also feature a noise-cancelling flip-up unidirectional boom mic with a frequency response of 100Hz-10kHz, a sensitivity of – 45dBV/Pa, anda signal-to-noise ration of >42dB.
The most basic of the three headsets, the RIG 500, features acoustic-isolating ear cups with memory foam ear pads and a 1.5m fixed analog cable ending at a 4-pole 3.5mm jack for connecting to your PC, console, or mobile device for stereo sound.
The next headset in the line-up, the RIG 500HD, comes with the same ear cups, memory foam pads, cable, and 4-pole 3.5mm jack as the RIG 500 but it also comes with a USB Dolby Adapter for 7.1 surround sound and a removable microphone.
The last of the three new headsets is the RIG 500E, which the company calls the E-Sports Edition. It comes with two sets of ear cups – one vented and one noise-isolating – and easy-swap cables for either USB with 7.1 surround sound or 3.5mm stereo connectivity. It also comes with a removable microphone.
The Plantronics RIG 500 is priced at Php2,995 while the RIG 500HD and RIG 500E are priced at Php3,795 and Php6,995, respectively. All three headsets should begin showing up at retailer shelves soon.
