OPPO Announces 6nm Imaging NPU, OPPO Air Glass at INNO DAY 2021

OPPO’s two-day INNO DAY 2021 conference began last December 14, 2021, where the company unveiled its new Imaging NPU, dubbed MariSilicon X, and its new OPPO Air Glass wearable device.

“We are living in an unprecedented age, and as a global technology company, we at OPPO feel it is both our duty and our privilege to try and make the world a better place through our technologies, products, and action,” said Tony Chen. “Although the journey towards each technological breakthrough is full of challenges, we aim to continue as we have started, step by step, to reach ‘Inspiration Ahead’ as we have set out in our new brand proposition.”

The new MariSilicon X is built on 6nm process technology and features an advanced NPU, ISP, and multi-tier memory architecture. The new imaging NPU lets smartphones capture RAW night videos in 4K and will be included in the company’s upcoming Find X Series smartphones, which will be released sometime in the first quarter of 2022.

As for its new OPPO Air Glass assisted reality device, it features a monocle waveguide design and provides several practical functions such as navigation, health data monitoring, teleprompter, and live speech-to-text translation. The new wearable is equipped with the company’s own compact projection system dubbed the Spark Micro Projector as well as an bespoke optical diffraction waveguide to provide vivid and sharp aR imagery in different environments. The Air Glass can be operated via OPPO smartphones and smartwatches and also supports touch, voice, and motion controls. OPPO will be releasing the Air Glass in China sometime during the first quarter of 2022.
