MSI Launches the MSI R9 270 Gaming Graphics Card

MSI has just launched the latest addition to their Gaming family of graphics cards based on AMD’s R9 270 GPU (codenamed Curacao Pro). The MSI R9 270 Gaming graphics card is powered by a 900MHz (975MHz @ Boost) core with 2GB of 5600MHz DDR5 memory. This whole system is cooled by MSI’s proprietary Twin Frozr IV cooler and only measures 256x127x34mm.

The MSI R9 270 Gaming graphics card is complemented by MSI’s Gaming App which offers users the ability to switch between three performance modes – OC Mode, Gaming Mode, and Silent Mode. OC Mode tunes up the core clock and fan speed to provide a boost in performance when needed, Gaming Mode provides the most stable gaming experience, and Silent Mode provides the most quiet performance in low usage situations.

MSI’s Twin Frozr IV system on the R9 270 Gaming graphics card features larger 10cm PWM Propeller Blade fans which are said to provide 20% more airflow than traditional fan designs. The Twin Frozr IV also features an increased heat sink area and a form-in-one heat sink that is said to enhance heat dissipation efficiency. The MSI R9 270 Gaming also uses MSI Military Class 4 components that include a new SFC, Hi-c CAPs, and Solid CAPs all of which meet MIL-STD-810G standards to ensure stability.
