Xbox and ASUS have released a new Preview update for the ROG Xbox Ally that adds Default Game Profiles, among other improvements.
Default Game Profiles, are optimized per-game profiles that balance performance and battery life by setting a specific TDP and FPS limit to the game. Games that require more performance to reach their target FPS will have a higher TDP in exchange for a shorter battery life while games that are able to perform above their target FPS will have an FPS limit and lower TDP to save power.
The Default Game Profile for supported games can be activated or disabled via the Armoury Crate Command Center Game Bar widget, where Game Profiles appear at the top of the widget with an ON/OFF toggle.

Over 40 games are supported so far, including the following:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
- Call of Duty: Warzone
- DOOM Eternal
- DOOM: The Dark Ages
- Forza Horizon 5
- Gears 5
- Gears of War: Reloaded
- Gears Tactics
- Halo: The Master Chief Collection
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
- Minecraft
- Sea of Thieves
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4
Other improvements that are part of the new Preview update include:
- Improved Gamepad response after login
- Quicker Library loading, especially for players with large game libraries
- Improved Cloud Gaming page performance, loading more quickly and more responsive
- New Game Gallery filter by Performance Fit, helping you see how well games will run on your device
- Bug fixes and performance enhancements for improved stability and responsiveness
The ROG Xbox Ally was launched in the Philippines last October. Both the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X are currently available.
