ASUS Launches Its New ZenBook, ZenBook Pro, ZenBook S Laptops in the Philippines

ASUS has officially launched its new line of ZenBook series laptops in the Philippines. The new line includes the latest ZenBook 13, 14, and 15, as well as the new ScreenPad-equipped ZenBook Pro 14 and the premium ZenBook S.

In a statement at the launch of the new laptops, ASUS Philippines System Business Group Country Manager George Su said:

“With tonight’s event showcasing the heritage of ASUS’ ZenBook line, we are proud to introduce yet another step in our innovation with the new ZenBooks as we continue to provide end-users with more ways to unleash their creative power. What we’ve shown tonight is the heritage of the ZenBook line—a testament to the innovations that we’ve made in providing notebooks that not only embody timeless elegance, but also the performance that today’s professionals and digital nomads demand. We are excited for the future as we continue to develop exciting products that will help our end users search for incredible.”

The new line of notebooks feature some of the company’s latest technologies including the new ErgoLift hinge that elevates the rear of the laptop and sets the keyboard at a 3-degree angle for better typing. The elevated rear also helps improve cooling and audio performance. The company’s new NanoEdge display, which helps minimize the bezels around the screen, is also present in all of the new laptops at varying degrees, with the new ZenBook 13/14/15 laptops featuring bezels as narrow as 2.8mm. The displays on the new ZenBook line may also be equipped with standard or anti-glare panels. Lastly, the top covers of all the new laptops also come in the company’s signature Zen-inspired spun-metal finish.

ZenBook 13/14/15

The new ZenBook Classic line from ASUS, which includes the 13-, 14-, and 15-inch models, all feature the same general design, such as the aforementioned spun-metal finish. But while the 15-inch ZenBook features a full keyboard with a physical numeric keypad, the smaller models come with ASUS’s NumberPad feature which turns the laptops touchpad into an illuminated numeric keypad when needed. The smaller models also come with the same set of ports, including an audio jack, a USB 2.0 port, a microSD card reader, an HDMI port, a USB 3.1 Type-A port, and a USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 port. The larger 15-inch model features a similar set of ports but replaces the microSD card reader with a full-sized SD card reader and the USB 2.0 port with another USB 3.1 Type-A port.

The new ZenBook Classic line is powered by up to an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, up to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q, and up 512GB of M.2 NVMe SSD storage. We’ve listed all the available configurations of each of the laptops as well as their respective SRPs below:

ZenBook Pro 14

The ZenBook Pro is the company’s most ambitious laptop yet, with its ScreenPad that acts as both a secondary touch display and a regular touchpad. The ScreenPad measures 5.5-inches and is equipped with a full HD IPS display. It is able to intelligently display functions depending on the application the user is currently using. Users can also create their own shortcuts to specific ScreenPad functions and apps. There are several apps already built into the ZenBook Pro such as the ScreenPad Launcher, Music Player, Calculator, NumKey (numeric keypad), a ScreenPad app for Microsoft Office, and more. The ScreenPad has the potential to expand the functionality and usability of the ZenBook Pro depending on the apps that are made available.

Apart from the ScreenPad, the ZenBook Pro 14 features the same general design as the new ZenBook classic notebooks. On the inside, the ZenBook Pro 14 features a 14-inch full HD display and is powered by an 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8565U processor, 16GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q, and 512GB of M.2 NVMe SSD storage. It is equipped with a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 2 port, a USB 3.1 Type-A Gen 2 port, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI port, and a headphone jack. It also comes with an IR camera for facial recognition as well as support for voice recognition via Alexa or Cortana. The ZenBook Pro 14 is priced at an SRP of PHP 94, 995.

ZenBook S

The new ZenBook S is the company’s most premium laptop in the new line. While it may not have the ScreenPad of the ZenBook Pro, it is the lightest and thinnest among the new notebooks, measuring only 12.9mm thin and weighing only 1kg. Classificed as an ultrabook, the new ZenBook S features a more premium design than its fellow ZenBook laptops. Apart from the aforementioned spun-metal finish that is present in all the new ZenBook notebooks, the ZenBook S also features a unibody all-metal construction, rose gold diamond-cut edges, and 2-phase anodized highlights. It also features a larger ErgoLift hinge that extends the elevation of the laptop’s rear to 5-degrees.

The ZenBook S is equipped with a 13.3-inch full HD display and a battery that the company claims to last up to 20 hours. It is powered by up to an 8th generation Intel Core i7-8550U, Intel UHD Graphics 620, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of M.2 NVMe SSD storage. It is equipped with one USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1, two USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 2 with support for Thunderbolt, and a headphone jack. For those looking for additional ports, the ZenBook S comes with an ASUS Mini Dock that is equipped with USB Type-C passthrough, an HDMI port, and a USB 2.0 port. The ZenBook S is also equipped with an integrated fingerprint sensor on the corner of the touchpad.

The new ZenBook S comes in three different configurations depending on the equipped processor and display type. We’ve listed the three configurations below as well as their respective SRPs:
