Here Are All the Nominees for the 2017 Game Awards, Place Your Votes Now

The nominees for this year’s Game Awards have been officially announced and include some interesting categories and nominees. A total of 102 games and gaming personalities were nominated this year across 29 categories, with some games being nominated for multiple categories. The 2017 Game Awards will be livestreamed on multiple platforms on December 7, 2017, from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

This year’s Game of the Year nominees include Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Horizon Zero Dawn, Super Mario Odyssey, Persona 5, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The Game Awards also added two new categories this year including the Student Game Award, which honors creations by high school and college-level developers, and the Best Ongoing Game, which recognizes the new games-as-a-service genre. Nominees for the latter include newer titles such as Destiny 2 and PUBG as well as older games such as Warframe and Grand Theft Auto Online.

Fans will have a hand at deciding the winners of some of the awards by voting on either the event’s website or by typing “game awards vote” on Google. Most of the awards will be majority decided by an international jury with the public vote counting for a minority of the decision but several awards including Best Esports Game, Best Esports Player, Best Esports Team, Most Anticipated Game, and Trending Gamer will be decided solely by fan voting.
